Love and Sex
Many a poet has expounded on the virtue of Love. Many writers have tried to explain it. Many songs have been written because of it. Really what is love, a chemical reaction, a memory, an illusion. All three none of the above. Love has driven many a man and woman to madness. It's almost a sickness for some, and often a burden for those without it. You look for love instead of just following your natural reaction. You are after all just another animal of sorts. You create the illusion of love and you do the strangest things to hold on to it or even to perpetuate it. Love has to be one of the most evil emotions of all emotions. Vincent Van Goh cut off his ear because of it. Does that sound like a sane thing to do? Ha, I guess it depends on what is sanity. Love is a strong emotion though, primal, yet not understood. It deeply and profoundly effects everyone at one point and time. So many other mysticisms are rolled up into it, fate, destiny. All things that are fallacies. Do this make love false to? Not really but there is no true or false definition for all things. Does it sound like a contradiction?, well yes of course because that's all you are is a contradiction in terms, a semantically mess of thoughts. No one wants to be alone after all you are socialized to be a community. Yet for some love is just out of the reach of explanation.
Mostly for the fact that love is confused with attraction, and lust. Things that are often demonized yet are more to the nature of who you are. You are told what is attractive by outside influences, and lust is the reaction to that coding. The thrill of seeing that perfect human being standing before you, the nervous sweat that releases your pheramones. The smirk of acknowledgment from the opposite sex. Lust devours your conscience and you react instead of think. The craving deep in your brain to satisfy your urges. Why deny it?, because your religion told you not to, because your afraid of the consequences. To be free of your inhibitions, free of your intellect for a moment, is truly excitement beyond the senses. The next day you will feel regret no matter what, regret of not doing it or the regret of giving in to your urges. Why regret the latter it is what you are. The regret of not doing it is more harmful sometimes.
Love is after all giving up a piece of you, a loss of power, whereas the completed act of lustfulness is a gain in power. All be it a short power trip but a very satisfying one. If lust is bad, love is worse, the pain you feel is horrible. The torment of loving someone who is not in love with you is the greatest hell you could ever feel. Sex on the other hand is pleasure, it is what you want and need, just like food and shelter, sex needs fulfillment. The trajedy being sex can cause all sorts of disease, malaise, and death. The flip side of that is it can bring life. How curiously odd the consequences are, which makes you think that consequences are void of any decision.
Life is after a coin flip away from disaster at any moment. Love is for those who are ready to give in and let a piece of themselves go to someone else. It's about compromise and you all are selfish out to satisfy your own goals, and love is not meant for you.
